The locations are stores like yours! Started in 1991, the Peanut Hotline provides hundreds of referrals each week, especially during the holiday season, to the nearest location for dropping off extra loose fill. Referrals to your store result in free loose fill and often good packing cartons too. More importantly, a potential customer walks into your store. Many communities list local Peanut Hotline members in city or county recycling directories. Catalog companies also refer customers to the Hotline. Local media outlets also feature Hotline businesses. You get free publicity along with the benefit of providing a service for your community. With plastic loose fill costing $10 to $20 a bag, the free material you collect should quickly offset the expense of joining the Hotline. Hotline membership is $30.00 per year.
